When I Run...

Just saying.  Sad, but true, but still thinking I should get to running again.  Need to go find my springy yellow jacket and my bubbles.

Happy Fall!

So, I can work this two ways.  I can look at the official change of the season - aka the autumnal equinox- as a slow degradation to winter, wrought with endless days of bone chilling cold. And snow, that for all its initial charm and beauty leaves much to be desired after month upon month of the falling stuff. Sigh.

Or I can soak up these last few days of perfect temps, beautiful evening light - truly the "golden hour",  and the smell of a bountiful harvest being brought in. I think I'll follow Marissa's lead and  "drink up"!

(Thanks Dennis for the pic!! I love it! It is all things Marissa!)

Back At It...

Yup. Back at it.  We have been back at school since the 25th of August. This means we have a 6th grader and a 2nd grader in the house.  Oh my.  Sweet Marissa is in middle school/jr high. Gulp.  Besides missing the bus on the first day, things have been going well.  In fact, she confessed to being "just a teeny tiny bit excited" to back to school on most Mondays.  Hope this trend continues.  I think she enjoys her freedom and her independence and maybe the fact she is actually "commuting" out of town three whole miles.  Just a small glimpse of things to come - me thinks.

That means Princess Maren is in 2nd grade.  Seems like just a few days ago she was going to "pretty school".  She is student of the week this week which entails The Capain making his "so cool my dad is a pilot" visit to the class.  Followed up by the "not quite as cool my mom is a nurse" visit.  King Harold also made an appearance and outdid both of us.  She used to blow me a kiss when she got out of the car as I dropped her off - a sweet little habit she picked up from her big sis.  This morning I got the peace sign and a quick "peace out, dude." Times are a-changing.

Oh well, as much as mothers lament their children growing up and going forth, myself included, it's all good fun too.  Love to see them grow up and become...well, whatever it is they wish to become.  I will always love them to pieces or should I say "peaces".

Oh yes, and hope to be back at blogging a bit more too again.  I've missed my little bloggity-blog-blog.
